I first met Juliet in 1987 in our second year at Bristol.  Juliet was certainly the sophisticated girl who lived in Clifton and worked and partied in London during the holidays!  Fast forward to 27 Dec 1990, Juliet and I met for post work drinks and made the very spontaneous decision to go traveling for a year.  A month later we were off.  Juliet and I did not know each other that well but luckily for me Juliet was the perfect traveling partner – gregarious, inspirational, adventurous, resourceful, resilient, easy charm, liked map reading, budget conscious, party girl and most importantly forgiving when we argued.  We had a truly fabulous year together and our proudest moment was arriving back at Heathrow still friends.  We shared so much fun, so many adventures and life experiences.  My memories of Juliet are so vivid – partying the night away in Chang Mai, traveling third class on trains in India, sailing round the Whitsundays, diving the Great Barrier Reef, skiing in Whistler, ski diving in Queenstown, celebrating Juliet’s birthday on the Yangtze River.  Our year together was just one of many examples of Juliet’s epitath - “A Life Well Lived”.
